ANGELA

“There is good news,” the nurse gently said,
“You will be a mother soon,” she spread.
But that news brought no joy to my mother’s heart,
For fear and worry tore her apart.
It struck her like an earthquake, deep and strong,
She wondered, “How will I carry this burden along?”
“I may become a burden, a carer in pain,
No laughter, no smiles, no sunshine again.”
She and my family, with hearts full of fear,
Thought perhaps my little life should disappear.
Those thoughts affected me, and I wondered that day,
“How will I survive? Will I find my way?”
The womb was meant to be an altar, a sacred home,
Where Almighty God would let His children roam.
Yet it seemed to become my slaughterhouse,
A place of silence, without a voice or house.
And perhaps, if no prayer had risen to Heaven that day,
My journey from the womb to tomb ended that way.
But my gentle prayers rose to the Heavenly Father,
And I cried for the help of my Heavenly Mother.
I whispered my fears; I called out in prayer,
And Heaven heard me with tender care.
Rush, rush—she came with angels bright,
Guiding and guarding me through the life bright.
Today people thank God for Dr. Angela,
For the life that He chose to preserve.
And my mother, once frightened and afraid,
Now proudly calls me “my Angel”, the name she has made.
And sometimes I wonder…
What if I had not prayed that day?
What if Heaven had turned away?
What if my little voice had never been heard?
What if my prayer had remained just a word?
Today I know the answer, clear and true:
God had a purpose for me to pursue.
From a womb that almost became my tomb,
God brought me into a life of bloom.
I was not meant to disappear,
I was meant to heal, to love, to care.
Once they feared I would be a burden or blame—
Today they thank God for Angela’s name.
